CARE
Always refer to the care instructions on the label of your MARINA BLANCHE garments. Pay close attention to material blends, embroideries and embellishments, as these require considered handling.
CASHMERE
Cashmere is a rare natural fibre sourced from the undercoat of select goats, primarily raised in regions such as China and Mongolia, valued for its exceptional softness, lightness and warmth.
Wash in cold water using a detergent for wool, diluted shampoo or a small amount of conditioner. Work quickly and gently. Rinse several times in cold water until clear. Do not wring. Press out excess water and roll the item in a clean towel. Use white towels to avoid colour transfer.
If machine washing is permitted by the garment label, place the item in a washing net or pillowcase. Use a wool detergent and select a cold wool cycle. Do not exceed 600 rpm.
Always dry flat on a towel, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Reshape while damp.
Ironing is rarely needed. If required, turn inside out and use low heat with minimal steam. Place a cloth between the iron and the garment. Steam from a humid room can also release creases.
Store clean, folded and in a dry place away from light. Keep away from rough surfaces and items with zippers or Velcro to prevent damage.
Pilling is natural over time. Remove gently with a cashmere comb.
COTTON
Cotton is a natural fibre sourced from the cotton plant, selected for its soft hand, breathability and enduring presence in garment making.
Wash in warm water up to 30°C using a detergent for cotton. Soak for up to 30 minutes, moving the garment gently. Rinse in warm water. Do not wring. Press out excess water against a flat surface.
Wash at a maximum of 30°C on a cotton or gentle cycle. Do not exceed 800 rpm. Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colours to reduce fading.
Air dry when possible. Hang the garment carefully and shape it while damp to maintain form. Avoid direct sunlight for coloured items.
Iron if needed. Cotton tolerates higher heat. Use a medium to high setting (150–200°C), provided the garment label permits it.
Store clean and folded in a dry place, away from direct light to preserve colour and shape.
LEATHER
Leather is a natural material crafted from carefully selected animal hide, valued for its strength, supple hand and the patina it develops with time and use.
Leather is a natural material and requires careful handling. Clean only when necessary, or approximately every two to three months. Before cleaning, remove surface dust with a soft, dry cloth.
The method depends on the leather type. Avoid excess water and harsh chemicals, as these may cause dryness or cracking. For suitable finished leathers, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild leather cleaner. Work gently and sparingly. Always test on a small, hidden area first. For delicate leather, seek professional care.
Do not machine wash. Water, heat and friction may cause permanent damage.
Do not iron.
Store in a cool, dry place with air circulation, away from direct light. Maintain the natural shape of the item. Fill bags if needed to preserve form and prevent creasing.
Inspect regularly to prevent wear and damage.
LINEN
Linen is a natural fabric made from flax fibres, valued since ancient times for its strength, breathability and cool, dry feel.
Wash in warm water up to 30°C using a detergent for linen or delicate fabrics. Soak for up to 30 minutes, moving the garment gently. Rinse in warm water. Do not wring. Press out excess water against a flat surface.
Wash at up to 40°C on a short or gentle cycle, if permitted by the garment label. Use a detergent for delicate fabrics. Avoid fabric softener. Reduce or skip spinning to limit creasing.
Air dry when possible to reduce shrinkage. Tumble drying may be possible on low heat when permitted by the garment label, but natural drying is preferred. Handle blended fabrics with extra care.
Iron while slightly damp on a high setting if permitted by the garment label. Linen can also be worn without ironing, depending on the finish.
Fold along natural seams to avoid deep creases. Store in a cool, dry place with air circulation, or hang carefully to maintain shape.
SILK
Silk is a natural fibre formed by silkworms during the cocoon stage, composed of continuous filaments prized for their smooth surface, fluid drape and natural lustre.
If permitted by the garment label, soak in lukewarm water for up to five minutes. Use a detergent made for silk or a mild soap. Treat stains gently. Rinse in clean lukewarm water by lifting and lowering the garment. Do not wring or twist. Remove excess water by rolling in a clean towel.
Hand washing is preferred when permitted. If machine washing is allowed, select a delicate or hand wash cycle with no spin. Use a silk-specific detergent and place the item in a protective laundry net. Do not use fabric softener. Remove immediately after the cycle.
Lay flat between clean towels to absorb moisture, then air dry flat away from sunlight and heat. Do not twist.
Iron inside out on the lowest heat setting, if permitted. Use a cloth between the iron and the fabric. Press lightly without holding heat in one place.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Maintain shape with proper support and avoid exposure to fluctuating temperatures.
VISCOSE
Viscose is a regenerated cellulosic fibre, developed from natural sources such as wood pulp and transformed through a manufacturing process to achieve a smooth, fluid finish.
Turn the garment inside out and wash in cool water using a detergent for delicate fabrics, if permitted by the garment label. Treat stains gently by hand. Rinse in cold water and press out excess moisture without wringing.
If permitted, wash inside out at 30°C on a delicate or cold cycle. Use a mild detergent and avoid fabric softener. Place the garment in a protective laundry net to reduce friction.
Lay flat or hang to dry, depending on the garment's construction. Reshape while damp. Avoid tumble drying and direct sunlight, as this may cause shrinkage or fading. Do not leave the garment crumpled.
Iron inside out on a low setting, if permitted by the garment label. Smooth the fabric gently while reshaping. Creases often release during drying.
Store folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid prolonged hanging, as this may cause the garment to stretch.
WOOL
Wool is a natural fibre sourced primarily from the fleece of sheep, valued for its insulating warmth, resilience and soft, structured hand.
If permitted by the garment label, wash in cold water, gently, without rubbing or wringing. Use a mild detergent for wool. Rinse carefully and press out excess water without twisting.
If machine washing is permitted, place the garment in a washing net or pillowcase. Use a wool detergent and select a wool cycle with cold water. Do not exceed 600 rpm.
Remove excess water by rolling the garment in a dry towel. Lay flat on a clean towel and reshape while damp. Allow to dry naturally, away from heat sources.
If needed and permitted, iron inside out using low heat with minimal steam. A steamy environment can also help release creases without direct heat.
Store clean, folded and in a dry place away from direct light. Avoid contact with rough surfaces or items with zippers or Velcro to prevent damage.
Pilling may occur over time. Remove gently with a wool comb.
